Renault 4 Engine Rebuild

This car was presented with engine overheating problems.  The oil level was extremely high and it had a high level of emulsification.  It was evident it had been run for some time with water in the oil and so full engine strip was decided upon.  The major problem was found to be the cylinder liner base gaskets but also the overheating had caused distortion to the cylinder head which also had to be rectified.  The photos show the rebuild process of this engine from a bare block.
