Cylinder Head Rebuild On A 3 Cylinder VW Polo 

This vehicle came to us with a serious misfire and had already been fitted with new spark plugs and coil/igniter units.  A diagnostic check showed a permanent misfire on one cylinder and an intermittent misfire on another.  A compression test produced low compressions and so the cylinder head was removed for inspection.  This revealed two exhaust valves with serious heat cracks (a common problem on these engines).  New valves were installed and lapped in to the seats followed by new valve stem seals.
